Rating: 9/10

Jason Isbell released Foxes In The Snow on March 7th. It's the first album he has released without his band, The 400 Unit, since his breakthrough album, Southeastern, in 2013.
Foxes In The Snow is a completely acoustic album featuring Isbell, his voice, and his guitar. Nothing more and nothing less. It does a good job symbolizing the feeling of being all alone after his divorce from Amanda Shires, who was also a member of the 400 Unit.
When listening to the album, my top few tracks were "True Believer," "Don't Be Tough," and "Gravelweed.""Don't" Be Tough" was a standout moment on the album due to its lighter tone and putting a bit of a comedic twist on getting through tough times in life.
There was not a single track I disliked. The closer, "Wind Behind The Rain," was decent, but a bit lack luster for the closer in my opinion. "True Believer" would have been the better choice to close the album.
The thing that makes this album stand out the most is the fact it is a solo acoustic album. Not many people do this. It is a lot of pressure on the artist because they are the only thing on the album. There is nothing else to distract from the performer. Isbell is also doing some live shows that are solo acoustic. This is something I think should happen more in music. I think it shows the artist is not afraid to really show who they are as a person and performer.
