1971 - The #1 country album was Lynn Anderson's Rose Garden. The title track "Rose Garden" was #1 on the country chart for five weeks straight. It also reached #3 on the pop chart.


1974 - Dolly Parton released her second single, "I Will Always Love You," from her thirteenth studio album, Jolene.


1974 - Matthew Shafer, better known as Uncle Kracker, was born on this day in Mount Clemens, Michigan.


1994 - Randy Travis released his fifteenth #1 hit "Whisper My Name." It was the second single off of his album, This Is It.


2000 - Rascal Flatts released their very first self-titled studio album which had four singles that charted in the Top Ten on the Hot Country Song Chart. They were "This Everyday Love," "I'm Movin' On," "Prayin' For Daylight," and "While You Love Me."


2006 - Rascal Flatts were at the top of the country charts with their double platinum album, Me and My Gang, which included the hit single "What Hurts The Most."
