  • 1970: Merle Haggard had the #1 spot on the country chart with one of his most famous hits "The Fightin' Side of Me."

  • 1981: Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs album was #1 on the country chart which included the smash hit "9 to 5."

  • 1981: Singer Brett Young was born.

  • 1986: Singer Brett Eldridge

  • 1992: Billy Ray Cyrus released a cover of The Marcy Brothers' "Don't Tell My Heart" with the revised name "Achy Breaky Heart."

  • 2000: The Dixie Chicks' fifth studio album Fly reached #1 on the US Country chart which in included hits like "Cowboy Take Me Away" and "Goodbye Earl."

  • 2022: Morgan Wallen's Dangerous: The Double Album set a new record for the longest duration in the #1 spot on Billboard's Country Albums at with 97 consecutive weeks.
